Early Postpartum Core & Conditioning

This class is for you if:
You are between 4-24 weeks postpartum (but all stages of postpartum recovery are welcome)
You are ready to focus on RE-training the core & pelvic floor & re-building base strength
This class is suitable for anyone who has Abdominal Separation, or thinks that they might (also suitable for anyone experiencing symptoms related to hip pain, low back pain, prolapse, incontinence or pelvic heaviness)
This is a great series to support your transition during early postpartum recovery and transition into postpartum fitness
You want to know how to select the most appropriate core exercise and how to scale it up or down as your strength & coordination improves
Please Note: A minimum number of participants is required for the series to run. This class size will also be capped to ensure everyone gets 1-1 attention throughout the series.
What you get:
Six 45 min in-person classes led by a certified pre/post natal fitness specialist with additional certifications in pelvic floor health & diastasis-recti healing (Mondays November 11, 18, 25, Dec 2, 9 2024 at 10:30AM)
Classes will integrate mobility, core and body weight training. Light equipment including resistance bands, loop balls and pilates balls will also be used.
Helpful cues to make that mind-body connection (remember we have to retrain the Brain, TVA & deep core muscles BEFORE we start introducing more core specific exercises)
You will learn how to assess your execution of each move so that you are confident you are “doing it right” when you’re at home or in other classes
We are going to practice the most helpful and progressive core exercises that you can easily do at home, or in other classes you attend.
You will get hands on help from me! This will be a small group series so that everyone gets some additional 1-1 help.
This is a Kegal free zone, but we will be working on how to coordinate our breathing strategies with a coordinated pelvic floor response.

Common Concerns:
Will your baby cry during class? Most likely! That’s their favourite way to communicate. We will always encourage you to soothe and care for your little one, but don’t worry if they’re crying. Someone always is!
Will you need to feed and change diapers? Yep, probably. Please bring some diaper bags to carry soiled diapers home with you after class. Most people just diaper in the space- no need to excuse yourself (even when it’s a blow out!). You can also feed your baby in class too, but if you want to step out there are some benches and a chair in the hallway.
Will your baby sleep all class in their car seat? Yep - that will happen some weeks too. Younger babies will often sleep through class. Bring small toys for older babies to practice tummy time. When it’s appropriate, we also involve babies to “help”.
What if I miss a class? We understand that life with a baby is unpredictable however due to the nature of the class and the limited spots available there are no make up classes should you decide to opt-out of an in-person class. However, we are offering access to part of our On-Demand Videos and you can always enjoy a workout at home in-lieu when time permits! Come tired, come grumpy, come in your PJ’s, bring a coffee and just hang. We know that getting out of the house can feel like a lot, but it’s almost always worth it! Meet some amazing mamas and educators that get it!
Remember, almost everyone has these same concerns in advance of any class or social gathering. Please rest assured that we expect babies to act like babies and encourage mamas & parents to respond to their babies needs. We are also always happy to be an extra set of hands to give you a break (if you’re comfortable with that).
Please Note: All requests for refunds must be made via email 10 days prior (November 1st, 2024) to the start of the series and are subject to a $25+HST admin fee. Due to the nature of the series, unused/missed classes are not able to be extended into another series. In the event you have to miss an in-person class you can take advantage of the On Demand workouts we have included with the purchase of your pass.
