FITMOM Member Spotlight: Meet Shannon

I had the pleasure of meeting Shannon following the birth of her twin girls.  When you're hands & your heart are full it can be a challenge to figure out how to squeeze fitness in, but at FITMOM, we always find a way!  In fact, in our indoor classes, I had the opportunity to workout with Kayley each week!Read a bit more of Shannon's experience at FITMOM and how this busy mom of 3 found the balance & community she needed to stay active & strong!Q: Which FITMOM are you?FITMOM+BabyQ: When did you start FITMOM?In December 2016Q: What keeps you coming back? It's fun fitness! I love the whole concept of moms getting together to get fit. It's such a supportive environment to try and get back into a fitness routine. After my first pregnancy I remember feeling a bit isolated. I had fitness goals but I didn't really know where to start! With this second pregnancy FITMOM classes have really helped me get back on track in a safe and healthy way. Also Jen is amazing. She's a great and knowledgable instructor and has great suggestions for issues that affect me or my kids (or even sometimes my husband)!Q: What is your favourite FITMOM Class?I love both of the FITMOM+Baby offering for different reasons. The indoor classes were so much fun and energizing. The weight and aerobic routines were fresh and fun and the music was great too. Stroller fit has been different but also amazing! I have always loved working out outside! Incorporating more cardio has really helped me see results.Q: What’s the exercise you love to hate?I absolutely love to hate burpees. There's something about those squat jumps that just burn me right out but I always feel amazing afterwards.Q: What’s the biggest benefit you’ve received from attending FITMOM classes? Not only have the classes been amazing for helping me to get on track, stay on track, and achieve my fitness goals, they've also been really wonderful for connecting with a bunch of incredible women who are incredibly supportive of one another. There's very few people in life that you can openly discuss the challenges of blocked milk ducts and diaper rash with. The ladies that I have met through this program have always been great sounding boards for issues, cheerleaders for milestones achieved and, frankly, friends.Interested in joining us?
